PAʻI Foundation presents the popular MAMo 2017 Wearable Arts Show! Not a regular fashion show, the MAMo Wearable Arts Show features Native Hawaiian and indigenous designers in a production that features fashion, accessories, jewelry, adornments and live music and cultural presentations. This show celebrates indigenous design in terms of cultural motifs, in a way that makes it more than a traditional runway show, and highlights how many traditional Hawaiian patterns and designs; in kapa, weaving, weaponry and tools, tattoo and adornment; take their visual clues from nature. Emceed by USA Doris Duke Fellow of Traditional Arts, Victoria Holt Takamine; and USA Ford Fellow of Music, Robert Cazimero; the MAMo 2017 Wearable Arts Show will feature designers including: Sonny Ching, Kanoelani Davis, Momi Greene, Kawika Lum-Nelmida, Keoua Nelson, Kehaulani Nielson and Nita Pilago. A post-show Trunk Show by the designers will be held across Pauahi Street, at the ARTS @ Marks Garage immediately after the show.
