hichinatown is dedicated to inspiring residents and out-of-town visitors to experience Honolulu Chinatown. We envision Chinatown as a work-live-play destination where the arts, dining, shopping and events bring the neighborhood alive. Studies show that more on-street activity in a community translates to lower crime, littering and vagrancy.

hichinatown supports Bill 51. The mission statement of the Downtown Honolulu Business Improvement District (Bill 51): Downtown Honolulu Business Improvement District is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Downtown Honolulu, which shall exemplify the quality of life throughout the State of Hawai i, by providing residents, visitors, and businesses and their employees, customers and clients with a safe, clean and enjoyable environment in which to live, work, and play, and to revitalizing and enhancing business in Downtown Honolulu. The Downtown Honolulu Business Improvement District shall work in partnership with government to develop and implement programs that promote the overall vitality of Downtown Honolulu by strengthening its role as a first-class business area.

The District includes Nu‘uanu Avenue to Richards Street and Beretania Street to Nimitz Highway.
